I apologize for not adding to my blog this past winter.  With the new Glover School and packing, I got very distracted and really neglected my postings.  Hopefully the fall blogs will be current.  However, I did want to add a few of the wonderful pieces my 2013-2014 students created.  Hope you enjoy them as much as […]

Here are the wonderful butterfly relief tiles from Ms Pruett and Ms. Dixon’s 4th grade students.

LINE DESIGN

IMG_1980Ms. Roy’s 4th grade students explored the use of organic shapes and geometric shapes to create new and surprising designs.   We began with a 3 inch square and created 12 thumbnail sketches using straight and curvy lines.  We chose our best design and traced 9 new squares using a light box.  We then outlined our designs with black sharpie markers and put them together to create a pleasing design.  We were really surprised to see diamonds, circles, squares and other objects appear when we glued the pieces down. Some of us are extending the project and adding color to our squares.  We can’t wait to see what will happen????IMG_1981IMG_1982

The Village School 4th grade students had fun printing poinsettias in one class.  The quickest project we will ever complete. We learned that the flower is in the center and that the red petals are called bracts.

IMG_1928The 2nd graders had some fun designing and camouflaging their turkeys for Thanksgiving.  Disguise was key to preventing them from being eaten for the holiday dinner.  Feast your eyes!!!!!!
